Fish in Foil

Baked fish in foil is a great fish recipe that doesn't produce any unwanted smell. It's the only fish recipe I make for my family since I don't like fish, but they love it. When serving, take the foil packets to the table, and keep them around for wrapping and discarding the bones and skin. Once you are done with dinner, you can dispose of the packets by throwing them away in the outside trash.

Ingredients you will need
4 4-6 ounce fish fillet, such as mahi mahi, halibut, cod or sea bass.
1 small summer squash, cut in half moons
1 small zuchini, cut in half moons
½ bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ sweet onion, thinly sliced
1 lemon
8 springs fresh thyme
8 springs fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon butter
garlic salt
salt & pepper, to taste
Let’s start !
1
1 To begin with, please preheat the oven to 400 degrees. After that, grab a sheet pan.
2
2 Tear 4  large pieces of foil that are big enough to wrap the fish and vegetables.
3
3 Cut the lemon in half. Save the sides for juice and cut 4 thin slices from the middle.
4
4 In a bowl, toss together the olive oil, squash, zucchini, bell pepper, and onions. Add salt and pepper to taste.
5
5 Divide the vegetables into 4 equal parts. Season the vegetables and place them in the center of the foil. Use about two cups of vegetables for each packet.
6
6 Place the fish in the center of the foil, on top of the vegetables.
7
7 To melt the butter, put it in a microwave-safe dish and place it in the microwave.
8
8 Brush the fish with butter and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
9
9 To enhance the flavor of the fish, kindly place some fresh herbs and a slice of lemon on top of it.
10
10 Seal the fish foil packets completely by folding the middle of the foil together and then folding the ends over. This will help keep all the flavors inside the packet.
11
11 Place the packets onto the cookie sheet which has been lined with foil.
12
12 Cook the fish and vegetables in a packet for 15-20 minutes until the fish flakes and vegetables are tender. It’s best to check the fish to ensure it’s cooked through.

To ensure that your fish cooks evenly and remains moist, be sure to check the thickness of your fillets and adjust the cooking time accordingly. Thicker fillets may require a few extra minutes in the oven or on the grill, while thinner ones will cook more quickly. Additionally, when sealing the foil packets, make sure to leave a bit of room for air circulation inside to help steam the fish and vegetables. This will help prevent the ingredients from becoming overly soggy and ensure that everything cooks to perfection. With these simple tips, you'll be able to master the art of cooking fish in foil like a pro!
